Would you like to help your child with making friends or managing their emotions at school? Sign up for the first 2025 session of our Social Emotional Learning (SEL) group. We learn about labeling, expressing and calming big emotions as well as making friends and understanding their feelings: core skills that can help children have a better experience in school.
We'll be using the evidence-based social-emotional curriculum Strong-Start as a framework during the 8-session class which runs from 3pm-4:30pm on Wednesdays, starting January 8th. This group is designed for 4 to 6 year olds and incorporates active learning and play.
Outline of each session:
3:00-3:15- Welcome*: Saying hello and introduction to the day's topic
3:15-3:40- Scaffolded social play
3:40-3:45 Transition Practice*
3:45-4:15- Skill building activity: Story, song, game and/or craft project
4:15-4:30 Finishing up and saying goodbye*
*Beginnings, transitions and endings are often challenging for many kids. We will be taking these times extra sloooooow to practice building these skills!
Cost:
$60 per session
or a limited-time discounted class rate of $400 for the 8-class series.
(If cost is a barrier, ask about our sliding scale)
